The Full Moon in Sagittarius is exact at 8 degrees of Sag at 7:20am PST on Tuesday May 29th. With the Sun in curious Gemini and the moon in adventurous Sagittarius, this is a time for exploration and learning. In true Gemini fashion, the planets are spread throughout the zodiac (with major planets in all the signs from Scorpio through Cancer), suggesting life is busy, attention is divided, and diverse facets of ourselves, our skills, and our resources are brought to bear.
Gemini loves to learn, meet people, and exchange information. It’s not especially concerned to pick one topic and master it, preferring breadth over depth. It’s curious and engaged, always learning new skills, studying new topics, interested in the neighbours and its environment. Sagittarius on the other hand is less concerned with consensus reality, social life, facts, and information, seeking rather underlying truths or laws, belief, worldview, and wisdom.
Gemini without Sag risks superficiality and fixation on information without integration or creativity. Sag without Gemini risks dogmatism, and losing connection with reality and society. Where Gemini might read everything it can get its hands on about say the galactic centre, which happens to be in the constellation Sagittarius, if that’s its latest interest, Sag might psychically reach out to the galactic centre and grasp its message intuitively: both of these modes of learning have a place, and one without the other is empty.
The integration of Sagittarius and Gemini implies healthy use of mind: the ability to parse information to determine what is useful and how to organize it; to learn from others while also tuning in to inner wisdom; to use information creatively; to respect factual knowledge while understanding that Truth is beyond convention. There is no knowledge without belief: our worldview is what enables us to sift through information and to organize it so that it’s useful. This shows how important our beliefs and assumptions are; they literally make our world.
With the moon fully lit, it’s easier to see: there is opportunity to see how our worldview shapes our world, how our assumptions shape our experience, how our beliefs shape our lives. With awareness, healing comes. When we witness that thought patterns stem from pain or trauma or are false or unhelpful or contradictory, they are freed up to release. When we set the intention to witness and release beliefs that no longer serve us, they lose force over time.
With the clutter cleared, we can move forward. Sagittarius is the archer, aiming its arrow at personal Truth and Big Dreams. Bring awareness and intention to your direction. Believe in your biggest dreams and aim your arrow there.
