With the Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius, and all those planets in Capricorn (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus) we might be tempted to hold to a rigid worldview. Our perspective might harden. (We might just think we are right!)
The Full Moon in Gemini offers an antidote: Curiosity.
Remember the magic of not knowing?
Life can be chaotic, and is certainly unpredictable. There is much we don’t know, and can’t know. There is much we can’t control. Our beliefs, our personal philosophy, can offer a sense of safety, even certainty. At least there is something we can count on.
But thought that hardens into rigid structure is prison. Free souls live dangerously: how invigorating to stand at the precipice of all you know and turn your face to the wind of Mystery.
Yes, fresh air, what a relief.
But what is that niggling? What is that incessant anxiety like white noise in the background?
Quincuncx the Moon, a triple conjunction between Venus, Saturn, and Pluto speaks to closing a cycle. It’s the end of a chapter with regards to how we relate to and in relationship.
What, or who, do we say goodbye to? A person? A pattern? A fantasy?
It takes honesty to see how, even we, might at times be obsessive, controlling, rigid, compulsive, manipulative, even delusional! (And what a relief, to identify as human!) Pluto-Saturn demands such self-scrutiny and reward us for it.
After the Sun squared Neptune last Sunday, maybe we better see how fantasy, as wonderful as it can be, may also bar us from Mystery and Possibility. Maybe we catch glimpse of just how much our relationships suffer under the weight of our ideas. (Those ideas whose wings we clipped).
There is more. A cycle is ending, yes, but cycles of cycles are ending. With the Saturn-Pluto conjunction (exact January 12), and Jupiter joining them, 2020 marks a transition between eras.
We are living through the end of a world and even among the relics and ruins, something new, not yet realizable, is emerging. We are building it, without knowing what we are building or in many cases that we are building. Our decisions now carry extra weight for we aren’t just inhabiting a world, we are creating one.
